Mosa’s ESG Commitment — Innovating for a Greener Industry and Redefining the Future of Gas Solutions

As a global leader in the manufacturing of high-pressure cylinders, Mosa has long been synonymous with quality and safety, earning the trust of numerous customers and holding a significant position in the market.

With the growing awareness of environmental protection and the continuous evolution of market demands, Mosa has been actively fulfilling its corporate social responsibility by pursuing eco-friendly product development. While continuously upgrading product quality, Mosa has also been enhancing its internal capabilities in areas such as environmental governance, social care, and energy conservation and emission reduction.

We invited Mr. ZhiChen Li, Sales Manager of Yuanling Precision Industrial Co., Ltd. (Mosa) in Taiwan, to share with us the efforts Mosa has made in various aspects of ESG.

Q: As an industry leader, how does Mosa define the role of ESG in its corporate strategy?
A: ESG is the core strategic direction for Mosa over the next 30 years. We focus not only on business value, but also on driving sustainable development of the gas cartridge industry through technological innovation and supply chain optimization.
Since initiating our ESG efforts, we have successfully reduced carbon emissions by 10%, while maintaining the safety and purity of every single cartridge. This is not just a promise — it's our responsibility to our customers and to society.

Q: Can you provide specific examples of how the fully automated production line helps reduce carbon emissions?
A: By standardizing equipment, we minimize irregularities caused by human operations and improve overall production stability. With our automated production line, we’ve doubled production efficiency and reduced gas leakage during filling by 70%.
Now that we've reached mass production scale, the energy consumption per unit has decreased by 40%, achieving real energy-saving and emission-reduction results.

Q: What are the environmental innovations in your new packaging design?
A: Our new packaging is visually striking and draws consumer attention. Most importantly, it features an ESG label to reflect our commitment.
We use gray kraft cardboard, which significantly reduces the need for chemical bleaching — aligning with Mosa’s goals for environmental protection and ecological sustainability.
The colorful and diverse packaging also uses soybean-based inks, which are both eco-friendly and non-toxic, underscoring Mosa's commitment to consumer health and safety.

Q: How does Mosa promote workplace diversity and inclusion?
A: Mosa is committed to creating a respectful and safe working environment for all employees. We ensure diversity in hiring, and fairness in pay and promotion opportunities.
We actively hire middle-aged and senior workers, encouraging intergenerational collaboration and mentorship, helping to create a senior-friendly workplace. Currently, over 32% of our workforce is aged 45 and above.
To support the rights of people with disabilities, we also hire individuals from minority and disadvantaged groups.
Moreover, we place great emphasis on female career development. Over 23% of our management positions are held by women — a rare achievement in a manufacturing-centric industry.

Q: What is the biggest ESG challenge facing the gas cartridge industry?
A: The production process involves high-energy-consuming equipment. That’s why Mosa continues to invest in and implement energy-saving initiatives.
In the past five years alone, we have saved over 2 million kilowatt-hours of electricity and reduced CO2 emissions by 988 tons.
Since N2O is a greenhouse gas with a Global Warming Potential (GWP) 296 times that of CO2, it has a significant environmental impact and increases the cost of carbon taxes and fees.
To address this, Mosa has developed a gas capture and recovery system that currently achieves a recovery rate of over 70%, significantly reducing emissions and costs, while boosting our market competitiveness.

Q: What are Mosa’s future plans for ESG development?
A: In line with the global target of reducing carbon emissions by 50% by 2030, Mosa — as a publicly listed company — will continue to conduct annual carbon audits.
We will also enhance our efforts across raw materials, manufacturing processes, and packaging to further cut down emissions and fulfill our ESG commitments.
